Chelsea Petereit

Chelsea Petereit teaches 7th and 8th grade science and will be entering her 27th year at the Lancaster School.  She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science with an emphasis in Microbiology from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona.  She worked for several years in the environmental lab of a papermill and as a long term substitute teacher. She decided to continue her education with a Masters Degree in Education from Plymouth State before beginning to teach at the Lancaster School.  Chelsea tries to encourage the curiuosity that all students have and make learning science a fun and active endeavor.  She coordinates the school recycling and composting programs and is known for having a variety of creatures in her classroom.  She is commited to sharing her love of science and the natural world, believing that people will be more likely to cherish and protect their environment if they understand it.
